About treatment - Open Appendectomy
Inflammation of the appendicitis is the most common disease in abdominal surgery. There is a misconception that it is the easiest disease which can easily be diagnosed and easily managed by surgery. On the contrary, it can be the most difficult, both for diagnosis and for surgical intervention. Because of this, the doctor must be very careful when placing the diagnosis of appendicitis because many diseases can have a similar clinical picture. Symptoms The onset of the disease is most often manifested by the feeling of discomfort or pain in the upper parts of the abdomen, which may be accompanied by loss of appetite and nausea. After several hours, the pain propagates into the ileocaecal region of the abdomen (the lower part of the abdomen-right), when it is suspected that it is an appendicitis. Obviously, it detects painful sensation in the lower abdominal-to-right parts. Diagnosis It is based on physical examination, laboratory analysis (elevated parameters of inflammation) and ultrasound examination. Treatment In the absence of a marked clinical picture and no major deviations in laboratory findings, it can initially be treated conservatively with regular patient monitoring. In cases of confirmed diagnosis and deterioration of the general condition of the patient, immediate surgical intervention is indicated. Surgical intervention involves the removal of a diseased appendicitis.
